Every year the Ford Motor Company auctions off a one of a kind Mustang at the EAA AirVenture fly in aircraft convention to help raise funds for training the next generation of pilots. 2015 will we Ford’s 16th consecutive year as an exclusive automotive sponser and will be auctioning off their eighth unique build. The latest is the 2015 Ford Mustang Apollo Edition, and as its name suggests it was developed with inspiration from the Apollo program. Ford designer Melvin Betancourt led the team who helped design the Mustang Apollo Edition and they made sure to make the vehicle a one of a kind fine representation of one of the most historic space ventures. Based on the Mustang GT, the car’s 5.0-liter V-8 has been upgraded with a supercharger that helps boost output to 627 horsepower and 540 pound-feet of torque.
